| Tremors 4! I love the Tremors movies, though that one is a little bit grosser than the others (remember when the worm's tongue is holding onto the bar, and something pulls it back, and the tongue rips off? Ugh.) |

Since it's Labor Day weekend, it'll be two days of movies, plus on Monday a showing of episodes of both The Outer Limits and Stargate: SG1 (an odd combination, for sure).

Labor Day now sucks since they stopped their Labor Day KOLCHAK marathons.
ALIEN NATION: THE UDARA LEGACY: Liked the show, film, and the TV films. Can't complain.
ALIEN FURY: 100% pure, uncut, crap.
ALIEN CARGO: Same as above.
TERMINAL INVASION: So aliens have stopped probing and decided to invade bank terminals. They really need a new plan :). Really, it sounds like crap.
THE ARRIVAL: Actually, a pretty good sci-fi thriller. Charlie Sheen IS Gordon Freeman! (Half-Life ref)
THE SECOND ARRIVAL: Can't comment. Have not seen.
IMPOSTOR: Saw part of it, don't want to see the rest.
BRAVE NEW WORLD: Craptacular.
The PLANET OF THE APES films are good, so I won't comment.
PRIMAL FORCE: Absoludicrously craptacular.
MONKEY SHINES: A good Romero film, so I can't comment.
|
Rome: Would somebody *please* shoot this guy? Morgan: What does it look like we're doin'? Rome: Missing! |

| Great, now he'll probably have a beer and cheat on his wife at some point. Possibly with the sexiest tomboy beanpole on the planet. Or Alf. |

Well, I don't get Sci-Fi channel of course, but I guess I can still comment on some of the upcoming movies.
"Magical Legend of the Leprechauns", also known as "War of the Leprechauns" in Germany.
I really like this movie. The love sub-plot(human) is a bit stupid, but it has Colm Meaney. COLM MEANEY. Anything else you need? It takes place in Ireland! It's got a Dullahan! I can't comment on the acting, because of the dubbing, but I like the visuals. The made-for-TV-ness is obvious though, even if it is nice. (Lot's of fake colors. CGI enhanced scenery, I guess) Oh, and Tony Curran as Sean Devine. Ever since 13th Warrior I am a fan of Curran.
Merlin.
Merlin was okay, I think. Was a bit boring once in a while, but Sam Neill was pretty good.
I guess The Phantom is the comic book movie with Billy Zane. Didn't like it. Just remember that it wasn't my cup of tea.
And I didn't watch "Seven Days To Live" because when it was announced in Germany I thought it was a bad rip-off of The Ring. Maybe it's good. Dunno.

Yep, The Phantom being shown on Saturday night is indeed the Billy Zane flick; why Sci-Fi feels this is a movie they should be spotlighting on their "big" Saturday night slot, I really don't know, but I guess it's better than schlock like Boa vs. Python (which recently got released on DVD, believe it or not). |
